Post 29: Research into different film magazines

Film magazine reviews are seen by the film industries as a vital part of distributing their new film as it is a way of getting your film to the target audience. A good review by a film magazine could lead to huge success for that film as more people will be willing to go and watch the film after seeing such good things said about it. However it could also have a reverse effect and could lead to a film being very unsuccessful due to the poor reviews it has received. I have researched into many big film magazines

As a result of this survey it is clear that the majority of Empire's readers are in the age bracket of 15-24. As a result of this film industries can used this to target the wider range of readers which could lead to huge profit for them. Also from the data it is very clear that the majority of readers are male which means they are more interested in action, adventure and violent films. This again helps the industries when targeting their audience.

Demographics are a common feature within these film magazines. Different film magazines such as Total Film target audience is of an higher age to that of empire and is also more even between the amount males and females read the magazine(although males still higher). As a result of these demographics it makes it a lot easier to target those of the different demographics meaning they have a direct way to distribute a new film to the different groups. However it can cause some issues as some people of a higher group than others may read and watch different films to those in the same group.
